Void and Waste

Chart #3 is the middle passage (part 3 of 5) of Godspeed's Static from Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven (2000), the part with the preacher going on about "the god-man, the god-woman."  But it's also the middle portion (part 2 of 3) of another Godspeed composition called Hung Over As The Queen in Maida Vale that they recorded for John Peel in 1999.  In Maida Vale, Chart #3 is followed by a passage titled Steve Reich, named for the minimalist composer and loosely based on his Violin Phase.

Steve Reich has never been officially released, but here's Chart #3 and Steve Reich from the Peel Session.

In case you're wondering, the opening passage of Hung Over As The Queen in Maida Vale is Monheim, the middle portion (part 2 of 3) of Sleep from Lift Your Skinny Fists, the passage that follows  '...They Don't Sleep Anymore on the Beach...' and starts as a lovely, gentle guitar drone before evolving into a crescendo of screaming strings and shriekback guitar.
