Loma

There are so many bands, albums and songs that I've loved fiercely for a week or two, and then forgot.  No fault of the music - it's my own ADHD in these oversaturated times.

One of those bands was Austin's Loma, consisting of Emily Cross and Dan Duszynski of Cross Record and Shearwater's Jonathan Meiburg.  They were our favorite band of April 2018 and we got to see them at The Earl, and then we just kind of forgot about them - something else came along and we can only hold so much information in our head at any one time.

Here's the good news - despite the covids, Loma released a new album last October.  Cool, and thanks for reminding us that you exist.  Additionally, it seems that among their fans, in addition to me, are one Brian Eno, who at the band's request, took the stems of their song Homing and produced what became the closing track of their new album, Don't Shy Away.

The lyric video for Homing includes photography by Emily Cross and George Litchfield shot in Cornwall, Dorset, Surrey and Wiltshire, England on various drives.  Here's a live version of the song, too.
