The Hum is a residency featuring free shows every Monday evening in April at the Manhattan Inn, featuring over 30 mostly female artists collaborating and crossing the genres of punk, indie, hip hop, classical, folk, jazz and more. Video artists collaborate with new groups each night.
On April 20th, the first set was scheduled to be a duo with Alyse Lamb from EULA with Alex Nelson of Oracle Room, but the group became a trio with the addition of Pamela Martinez of Teletextile on percussion, keys and effects. Their set was a shared group of songs that neither protagonist had ever performed live before, and for Alyse the material was more aligned to her solo project Parlor Walls than to the hard-driving post-punk of EULA.
It's pretty good stuff, and brilliantly recorded by NYC Taper. Check the entire residency out on their website, or just enjoy the EULA et al set below.
