As a tribute to Floyd Mayweather, here's Miles Davis' tribute to Jack Johnson, a former heavyweight champion of the world (personal note: I saw a 19-year-old Mayweather box here in Atlanta during the 1996 Olympics).
In addition to Miles Davis on trumpet, this 1971 recording features John McLaughlin on guitar, Steve Grossman on soprano saxophone, and Herbie Hancock on keys. That's Michael Henderson on the funky bass and Billy Cobham on drums.
If you don't agree that this record is some bad-ass rock 'n' roll, I can only imagine how rigidly you draw your inter-genre dividing lines.
