La Blogotheque, god bless their Gaulic hearts, have been cranking out these Take Away Shows for over a decade now. At this point, it's virtually a formula - a shot of the performer walking down a street to ambient, background street sounds, an oh-so-brief musical prelude, and then two songs, the second usually more polished than the first.
It may be a formula, it may be cliche, but it's lasted a decade because it fucking works. This latest Take Away Show, by artists I don't know and never heard of before, gives me an intense case of the feels. It was sounds like this and music like this and videos like this that got me re-interested in contemporary music again in 2005, at the beginning of the indie-rock renaissance.
As The Residents would say, La Blogotheque is good and La Blogotheque is strong and La Blogotheque is the best of everything.
