Von Grey in Oakland Cemetery, May 20, 2012
Don't you just love it when good things happen to nice people?
One of the many pleasant discoveries during last year's Sounds From the Crypts fundriser in Atlanta's Oakland Cemetery was the band Von Grey. Comprised of teenage sisters (the oldest is a mere 17 years), the band played surprisingly sophisticated and accomplished country-folk pop. Given their young age, the sisters have near limitless potential.
Yesterday, Von Grey played their first Daytrotter session, and even got their own official Daytrotter portrait. Recorded in Rockdale, Illinois, during their current tour of the Midwest, the session includes four short but sweet songs and is well worth checking out.
The girls return to Georgia by the end of this week, and will be performing at Atlanta's Criminal Records on Saturday, April 20, as part of National Record Store Day.
