Keep Shelly in Athens are actually from Athens - Athens, Greece, not Athens, Georgia - but there is no Shelly in the band. The band's name comes from an Athens suburb called Kypseli, and somehow "Kypseli in Athens" morphed into "Keep Shelly in Athens."
There is no Shelly, but unfortunately there is no Sarah P in the band anymore either - she left last year and they are now touring with a new singer, Myrtha, who I'm sure is just as good, but even though I like this band, a lot, the prospect of listening to a replacement singer doesn't excite me enough to head out into this cold and rainy Monday night to catch their set at the godforsaken Masquerade.
